Action A4.2 Guidelines for assessment and reduction of wildfire hazard at stand and landscape level for planners.

Description: A set of support tools for planners and end-users will be developed to implement measures for reducing wildfire hazard at stand level. This action will include the following components:

  1. Guidelines for identifying fire hazard vulnerability to crown fires at forest stand level, using forest stand variables.
  2. Best codes practices and sylvicultural guidelines for making forest more resistant and resilient to forest fires and to facilitate wildfire extinction tasks.
  3. Guidelines for crown fire vulnerability mapping at regional level to identify areas more vulnerable and the priorities of management at landscape level.

This action will integrate also the conclusions of Action A2.1 and A3.1.

Expected results: Contents of the guidelines.
